The purposes of Minority Scholars are: to further the education of minorities; to obtain and maintain at least a 2.4 grade point average; to gain cultural diversity and work towards the betterment of student’s school environment; to provide service in the community; to implement and organize fund raisers; to plan and organize college visits; and to set up workshops to better prospects for future endeavors.
Any ethnic minority student at Burlington High School may become a member of the Minority Scholars. The member of the Minority Scholars must have a grade point average of at least 2.0. Provisional members are ethnic minority students who do not have at least a 2.0 g.p.a. These members have a one-quarter grace period to improve their g.p.a. to at least a 2.0. To be a member, an application must be on file with Minority Scholars.
Meetings are held weekly.
