National Honor Society

The purpose of the National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship and to develop character.

NHS also is a service club that strives to better the school and community through monthly service projects.

Selection to NHS is a privilege bestowed upon students by the Faculty of the school, and not considered a right inherent to any student.

Selection for membership is decided by a faculty council and is based on outstanding scholarship, character, leadership, and service.  To

be selected, students must:
  • be a member of the sophomore, junior or senior class
  • have been in attendance at the school an equivalent of one semester
  • have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.6 OR 3.5 with bonus points
  • complete an activity form to support candidacy, pass a faculty review, and receive majority vote of a faculty council
  • maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.4 after becoming a member.
Regular meetings are held monthly and other meetings as necessary.
